The web portal Prameny české lidové hudby (Sources of folk music of the Czech lands) presents a database of digitized recordings of folk songs, dances, and instrumental melodies, which is continuously acquired in various forms by researchers of the Institute of Ethnology of the CAS, in the Department of Ethnomusicology and Ethnochoreology in Prague and the Department of Memory Studies in Brno, in cooperation with the National Institute of Folk Culture in Strážnice.

The basis of the portal was created within the project Folk Songs and Dances of Czech Lands - digital system for access and preservation (DG18P02OVV053) in the program of the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic for the support of applied research and experimental development of national and cultural identity (NAKI II) 2016-2022

The portal presents data on sources of Czech folk music and facilitates the search for information on songs, dances, and instrumental music. Digitized data of various types are gradually being added to the portal for individual sources, in particular scans of manuscripts and published musical and textual notations, audiovisual files with historical records of folk singers and musicians, lists of incipits of song units, digitized melodies, and lyrics or detailed passportization.
