RESEARCH PROFILE
My academic work engages with the ways in which historical narratives and collective memory shape contemporary identity politics in post-socialist societies. I am particularly interested in how urban spaces serve as sites of contestation, reflecting broader social, political, and economic transformations. By employing interdisciplinary methods that combine archival research, ethnographic fieldwork, and oral history, I examine how individuals and communities navigate the legacies of Soviet rule amidst the processes of Europeanization.
I have participated in various international conferences and research projects that address questions of historical memory, post-colonial theory in the post-socialist context, and urban social movements. I am also involved in collaborative research initiatives that bridge the fields of anthropology and history, focusing on the lived experiences of people in transitional societies. In addition to my academic work, I contribute to public discourse through essays and articles that analyze the intersection of history, politics, and social change in Eastern Europe.
