Institute of Ethnology of the CAS invites applications for the position of researcher in the Department of Memory Studies

We offer an interesting job in a prestigious public research institution, participation in research and other projects, and opportunities to further development and qualification growth. The salary corresponds to the classification according to the Career Development Rules for CAS Employees and the IE CAS Internal Salary Regulations.

Expected contract start date 01. 01. 2024, fixed-term contract with the possibility of extension, part-time job (0,5 FTE).

Qualification requirements:

• completed doctoral studies in ethnology, history, socio-cultural anthropology or related fields and experience in the field,
• professional specialisation in cultural/communicative memory, politics of memory, documented by by systematic publication activity in respected scientific journals and renowned publishing houses, citations and participation in research projects, above-standard orientation in the research field of memory studies,
• proficiency in English in both written and spoken form and knowledge of another world language,
• ability to formulate and solve research projects independently and in a team and to publish scientific texts in professional periodicals and publications,
• participation in international memory studies platforms and successful leading of a memory studies project is an advantage.

• a structured CV with a list of publications,
• a cover letter outlining the professional focus and publication activities in the next three years,
• an example of a published scientific text focusing on memory issues, in which current theories and methods of memory studies are applied.
