 the Perspective of Humanities

Working Group: Language, Race and Lived Experience of Migration

Institute of Ethnology of the Czech Academy of Sciences, Prague, Czech Republic

RESEARCH ASSISTANT – half-position, 0.5 FTE

RESEARCH PROJECT

The larger project is funded by the Czech Operační Program Jan Amos Komenský (OP JAK) and this particular Working Group is led by Dr. Stephanie Rudwick. Within this Working Group, the research asssistant will conduct ethnographic research in various locations of Czechia, and possibly also other regions of Central Eastern Europe (CEE).

POSITION

0.5 FTE, initially for one year, with the possibility of extending the contract for another three years (4 years total). Starting date is ideally the 1st March 2024, or earlier if possible. We expect the successful candidate to contribute to various research activities, such as literature reviews, conducting interviews, transcribing, coding, and contributing to the write-up of articles.

ELIGIBILITY  

  • Excellent skills in qualitative methods and ethnography.
  • Proficiency in written academic English, other language skills desirable.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of an international team.
  • Readiness to live and work in Prague, Czech Republic.
